Weightlifting High Performance Centre

DSYS' needs
The Department of Sports and Youth Services of the Government of Odisha wished to establish a high performance centre to encourage and promote weightlifting in the state.

They had chosen the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar as the venue for this HPC.

TENVIC’s operations team built a comprehensive plan

We brought the best educators, coaches and technicians from across the globe to help the athletes. The HPC team included:
  • Two Olympian chief coaches
  • One world champion as strength and conditioning head
  • 12 assistant coaches (NIS and IWLF certified)
  • 10 technical support staff (physiotherapist, masseurs, S&C, sports psychologist, nutritionist and operations)

Once that was stabilised, we expanded the reach with an additional HPC in Ganjam for 200 weightlifters. We’ve also identified and set up 47 grassroot centres across the state.
